Penne Poutine

The great Canadian comfort of poutine in the ease of your home kitchen. Warm up with this tasty vegan, gluten-free treat while enjoying delicious protein packed Chickapea noodles. So simple and quick, this recipe replaces the fried portion of poutine with Chickapea pasta.

Penne Poutine

  • 1 Package Chickapea Penne
  • 2 Tbsp salt, (for cooking pasta)
  • 1 package vegan, gluten-free instant gravy
  • 1 package vegan cheese curds
  • Optional green onion or hot peppers, diced


  1. Cook the Chickapea penne, (heat 16 cups of water and 2 Tbsp of salt in a large pot over high heat until boiling. Add pasta to the water, decrease heat to maintain a gentle boil.  Stir and cook pasta for 7 minutes) 
  2. Drain pasta and rinse with warm water
  3. Pat the pasta dry 
  4. Transfer the pasta to a casserole dish
  5. Meanwhile prepare the vegan gravy to package specifications
  6. Top the Penne pasta with cheese curds and hot gravy
  7. Sprinkle with green onion or hot peppers

Recipe Notes:

  • To melt the cheese curds further after adding the gravy, cook the entire dish under broil for a couple of minutes
  • Road’s End Quick Vegan Gravy was used in this recipe
